Jersey Fresh Jam Returns to Trenton for Annual Celebration of Hip Hop Culture

Jersey Fresh Jam will return to Trenton, New Jersey, on Saturday, Aug. 15, bringing together graffiti artists, breakers, DJs, emcees and Hip Hop fans for a free, all-ages celebration of the culture’s creative roots.

The annual event, scheduled for noon to 7 p.m. at TerraCycle headquarters, 1 TerraCycle Way, will feature 1 vs. 1 open breaking battles and 2 vs. 2 kids breaking battles for competitors 17 and younger. Winners will receive a $500 cash prize and custom handcrafted trophies.

Founded in 2005, Jersey Fresh Jam has grown from a small gathering into one of the East Coast’s most respected grassroots celebrations of hip-hop culture. Each summer, artists from across the region and beyond turn the walls of TerraCycle into an outdoor gallery, while DJs, emcees and dancers create a soundtrack for the day’s festivities.

This year’s judges include Are You Randy of Retro Flow Crew and Foot Twerk Team, Just Will of Style Elements Crew and Rise of Ill Stylez Crew. Music will be provided by Rick Tha Rula of Break Infinite and Jey Prime of Retro Flow Crew, Butuan Breaks, Source Code and Break Infinite. Pineapple King of Capitol Square Rockers will emcee the event.

Jersey Fresh Jam is free to watch and enter, inviting longtime fans and first-time attendees to experience a community-centered event rooted in graffiti art, breaking, DJing and live performance.
